OKAY, this is probably the 389th gift guide to drop into your mailbox today. But, hear me out.

I really really LOVE giving gifts. It is something that I think about all the time. And I want you to see some of the wonderful independent artists & makers producing beautiful gifts this year.

Because I truly don't think you need to spend a lot of money to give someone something special, AND, if you are spending money... spend it on an artist. It is money well spent to keep the dreamers of our world in business. I promise the gifts are better, too!

Here are my personal coveted gifts this year, from me and the whole team @ People I've Loved. We are so lucky to share this time & space with you.

Love,
Carissa & the gift-givers & seekers @ PIL

Here are a few things we're thinking about this month.

Build-your-own palette watercolors that happen to be the best I've ever used! You can hand-select your favorite colors. Give this to a so-called "non-artist" and expect raves.

What pure pleasure to wear this around your neck. I love the colors. Hoping Josh gets one for me ;)

This black-and-white dress. Plus, you can add pockets! Genius.

A spa treatment at home (under $20).

A book with rhyming poems about feelings for kids, but like—it's also for adults.

I want to wear these with these. Particular & chromatic, yes.

Frame this for the person you're hot for.

Speaking of getting hot, put one of these in every stocking. They're compostable!

One of these for everyone in my family so we can have the most colorful Christmas morning ever.

My favorite chocolate (and this little gift box is only $20)!

A book you can't put down.

Gather a group of friends to contribute to a beautiful project about collective grief.

Gift tags but make them hugs.

Cosmic placemats for a holiday meal (maybe a solstice meal?)!

Dreamy candles.

One of my favorite ethical clothing brands just launched U.S. shipping! This is on my wishlist.

p.s. I have space to make only 2 more custom paintings this holiday season.
